Tehehehe.
Sonder
n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.
My friend just posted this as her status and I looked it up myself but the word doesn’t exist. I don’t know what the story behind her status is but it really made me think!! And it really should be a word.

Running the marathon was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I pretty much experience the entire range of human emotions from delirium (thank you heat) to complete defeat to sheer determination to ridiculously happy (pretty much cried as I went through Mile 21, I love my school) to the most exhausted kind of relief crossing the finish line. Such an amazing experience and so much love to my fantastic roomie who made sure we stayed together the whole way and with whom I crossed the finish line holding hands :)
I am so freaking proud of you Char. You’ve been determined and motivated and have worked incredibly hard and I really wish I could have been there to see you cross that finish line!! What a huge accomplishment. You are so inspirational because you’ve re-reminded me of how important and rewarding it is to have a goal, work hard, and see it through to completion.
I CANNOT WAIT!
This is exactly what I need. And I’m so pleasantly surprised that it’s coming out this year!! September is the perfect time for this- we’ll be back in school, probably stressed out of our minds… and then enter JK Rowling novel-y goodness. Excitement abounds!! :D
PS. I find it hilarious that the character mentioned in the synopsis is named Barry. Hehehe. I half expected his last name to be Fotter instead of Fairweather :P
PPS. I now have this urge to know exactly what the cover will look like. And the first page of each chapter. And the FONTS. Oooh the fonts. Alrighty I’m done.

this semester and that was all it took to become completely hooked on TEDTalks videos. I’ve watched tons of them and they’re completely incredible. I just watched Anis Mojgani’s talk titled ‘Equal Parts Science and Magic’ and I loved it. I think I loved it more than I normally would have simply because Mojgani was so completely into everything he was saying. This was one of my favorite parts:
Magic is only discovered science and science thus is only discovered magic. This is incredible to me. Incredible. Every atom in our bodies comes from a star. Simply put, in the expanse of the universe, in the burning gas of stars, atoms were fused and elements formed. And these pulsing stars collapsed and exploded however many eons ago- sending these particles, these building blocks of matter to fall and form and collect and create the planets. This planet. And the life forms upon it. Carl Sagan says that the nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies, were all made in the interior of collapsing stars. Hot damn. That’s astounding. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCF2vmRzSCI]
I think I like these videos so much because they hit at every single discipline and everyone can relate to them on some level. These videos are inspiring because they make me re-realize how incredible people are. And how passionate they can be about what they do.
SCREAMING.
“I look more critically at the design on Peeta’s arm. The alternating pattern of light and dark suggests sunlight falling through the leaves in the woods. I wonder how he knows this, since I doubt he’s ever been beyond the fence.”
That would explain a lot.
Holy crap.
